I Love It When A Plan Comes Together
Madrina Molly Community
Behind the scenes at Madrina Molly™, we’ve been working our little tails off to create a digital home for Financial and Longevity Planning Education. In fairness, my explorations on the Internet have yielded a few good teachers out there in social media land. But it’s hard to find them.
Currently, the “finfluencers” want to teach you how to trade options, buy tax liens, and purchase their “secret sauce” training.
Newsflash: If you haven’t spent any time learning how to trade up until now, what makes you think you’d be interested in it moving forward? Plus, you don’t have to “trade” to invest successfully.
The Zillennials (the group found between the Millennials and the Gen Zs), want to teach you how to put money into a high-yield savings account and roll over your forgotten 401(k)s.
Newsflash again: They’re not wrong. But they’re also not the experts they claim to be because they can’t get you where you need to go, although they get points for social media mastery by making lots of affiliate marketing dollars. Oh, and they amuse me with their antics!
The financial journalists insult us with their silly lists that don’t really convey any useful information in their “one-size-fits-all” logic. They’re in it for the clicks. And all the platforms want to make a landgrab for your assets. In short, the world of online financial advice is not useful, near as I can tell.
And that’s why you need to find yourself a credentialed professional, a CFP®.
In a perfect world, you’d get a relationship with a qualified financial professional who is credentialed and provides a fiduciary level of care. But there’s a problem: There are only 100,000 of us CFP® Professionals to go around. And only 24,000 of us are women, and that’s not good for women who prefer to work with women.
As for Women of a Certain Age(ncy), we’re still invisible, so we need our own sandbox: a digital community that can provide (at scale) financial and longevity planning education to everyone who wants it. Our goal is to democratize this type of information and help the many “high-cashflow-not-yet-high-net-worth” households who don’t have a financial planning relationship.
Further, our goal is to provide value to those households that do have a relationship with an investment advisor, but who can further benefit from education created especially for women of a certain age(ncy).
Whether you’re in mid-career, late-career, encore career, child-launch, sandwich/club sandwich generation, or ready to retire, the Madrina Molly Community is for you. If you’re a DIY financial person, you can take the information we share and run with it. If you have an advisor, we’ll supplement your education. If you do NOT have an advisor and want one, we’ll refer you to one in our trusted network.
Women CFP® Professionals frequently ask me what I can do to help their prospects who can’t become clients because they don’t make their firm’s investment minimums. They ask me what I can do to help clients whose assets are locked in 401(k) plans. Women who don’t like their partner’s financial advisors (you know who you are) seek me out directly for education and advice on the side.
I know for sure that this is an idea whose time has come. And I can’t wait to record a tour video so you can see what we’ve got. And we’re just getting started!
To be clear: Our education is just that. We will help you learn what you should be asking for. But we will not be placing any financial solutions today. We will refer you to our advisor network for insurance and investments brokering. If or when we have a formal referral relationship, we will be transparent about it. But we receive no referral compensation today.
“What will it cost?” you ask. Well, when I was in practice, my starting financial fee for year one was $2,500 up to 1% of household annual income.
Membership in online programs like Facet charge $2,000 to $6,000 per year.
Multiple “snapshot” plans I’ve seen charge $2,500 for planning, not even an ongoing relationship.
Madrina Molly is intended to further democratize financial planning information and to integrate longevity planning best practice. We’re making our community available for $59.99 per month or $649 per year. There will even be free chatrooms and webinars for people who want to “check out the vibe” before diving into the pool.
Click here to join the waiting list, and we’ll let you know when we’re ready to open our doors. Your ambassadorship is so important to us. So spread the word!
